The Daily Vinyl video #14: "Too Much Time On My Hands " by Styx

Original upload date: July 24, 2009

About this Vinyl Video video: What's that? You don't bring your turntable with you
everywhere, like to the grocery store like I do? Ok I am so stoked about
this video! I've been dreaming of filming this since I first had the idea for
www.TheDailyVinyl.com. I chose this song because it seemed like a perfect thought
someone might assume about me while watching it.

Thanks to Bill Martin Corner Foods Grocery in East Nashville for use of the meat cooler.

No cattle were harmed in the making of this video.

The Daily Vinyl video #13: "Wilco (The Song)" by Wilco

Original upload date: July 22, 2009

About this Vinyl Video video: It's a Wilco double shot. Wilco (the band) just released
a few weeks ago Wilco (The Album) featuring "Wilco (The Song)."

I filmed this on a table that used to be solid, faded, unfinished wood. My wife
in her desire for beauty completely designed and painted this table herself at
The Art & Invention Gallery in East Nashville (with help from owner, Meg).

So enjoy the song and

BTW, the vinyl record of "Wilco (The Album) " includes the CD.... What a bargain!

The Daily Vinyl video #12: "Either Way" by Wilco

Original upload date: July 21, 2009

About this Vinyl Video video: I'm so proud of how this video turned out. Wilco is just
awesome and this is a lovely song from the 2007 "Sky Blue Sky" album (hence
the blue sky uner the turntable.)

The Daily Vinyl video #08: "Big Log" by Robert Plant

Original upload date: July 13, 2009

About this Vinyl Video video: This one was filmed in on our vacation to a suburb of Chicago. It's probably
my very favorite so far. It reminds me of my days as a child going on family vacations. I used to
sit in the way back of the station wagon as we drove from Ohio to Miami.
I had my battery powered light blue record player and a stack of 45s. (You can just imagine
what kind of heaven I am in with my iPod!)

The Daily Vinyl video #07: "Bowling Green" by The Everly Brothers

Original upload date: July 09, 2009

About this Vinyl Video video: This one was actually filmed in Bowling Green, KY during a roadtrip.
I first leared of this song because my prog-a-billy band performs a more rockin' version of it.
But I like this pleasant version too. So, sit back, relax and enjoy the blue grass of Kentucky.

FYI -- many people have asked if I the audio is recorded at the same time. And no... no, it's not.
Too much to try & coordinate at the same time. I'd rather have the best
audio recording I can get and sync it up to the video. But it truly is the vinyl audio
source you hear. I bought this record the morning of our road trip at a local record shop.

Wow... you can download from Amazon a 50 song collection for only $10!

The Daily Vinyl video #05: "Middle Of The Road" by The Pretenders

Original upload date: July 07, 2009

About this Vinyl Video video: This was actually the first one I filmed. The night before,
the idea to create these popped into my mind. The next morning, I decided to not be
the kind of guy that has a "great" idea (debatable, I know) and thinks of a hundred
reasons not to do it. Instead, I said "what thehell. I'm going to put my freakin' record player
in the street and figure out how to film it looking straight down."
And so I did it.

I know these videos are not necessarilly "exciting". If you're looking for exciting,
there's probably a trailer for Transformers 2 on YouTube. But if you miss the days
of pulling out that vinyl record, flipping through the artwork, watching that disc
go 'round, and don't mind hangin' out for 4 minutes, then you may
enjoy this. BTW, the car noises are real from the filming. I was hoping to get
car shadows going by, but the sun just wasn't at the right angle. And then I moved on.
Oh, and since today is my birthday (July 7th!) I thought I'd broadcast the first one I made.

The Daily Vinyl video #03: "Saturday In The Park" by Chicago

Original upload date: July 03, 2009

About this Vinyl Video video: It seemed only fitting to make a The Daily Vinyl video for
"Saturday InThe Park" since Independence Day is on July the 4th this year. (haha)
I filmed this record in 3 different settings, trying to capture the mood, including
in the middle of a park in a suburb of Chicago. But, it ended up just looking
like any other piece of grass. I like the one I filmed the night before this one.
Maybe I'll make a version with parts of all three. Until then... Here is the one I
attempted to upload to YouTube for the July 4th weekend.

Chicago IX: Greatest Hits '69 - '74 was Chicago's first greatest hits collection.
Originally released in 1975, it spent five weeks atop the Billboard album chart and has been
certified four times platinum. Still to date, it is the biggest selling album of their career.
